Do you have anyone in your parish who would make a great Authorised Children’s Minister? Maybe you know someone who has been volunteering for a long time, or someone who would like to access some training, make some new friends and network with others in the diocese who are doing the same?

The Authorised Children’s Minister course runs from January to September 2026 and covers many aspects of ministry with children and families. A rich mix of theory, practice and resources, the course offers participants plenty of support and guidance within their current context, be that a Sunday Schools group, after school club, uniformed organisation, holiday club, toddler group leader/helper, Messy Church volunteer etc. Whatever area of children’s ministry you have in your parish, this course will train and support those who are involved! Each participant will then be authorised (not licensed) by the bishop at the Lay Ministries service in Durham Cathedral, in September 2026.
