Running springboot in ddf

Is it (bad/illegal/not advised) to run springboot applications inside DDF?

I have been able to find demo's (https://github.com/StasKolodyuk/osgi-spring-boot-demo) and get them to work but I am worried that it is fundamentally a bad approach for some technical reason.
