Hello all,
My flat is alloted in the name of my husband. However the CD is joint as is the case for everyone. My question is when do i need to inform my employer about the dda flat? After the possession letter? Can anyone please shed light on this. I am a government of Delhi employee.

Thanks rakesh. I was asking more from service rules perpective. I have heard that we need to inform the employer 1 month before executing the CD. Does anyone have any details on this. I don't want to be harassed by my office people later

you needed to inform your Head of the Office as soon as the allotment letter was received by you. You should inform him/her immediately

This is only applicable for government employees, and has no relation with tax deduction

Hi All,
As far as my knowledge is concerned,
1. you are not eligible for home loan rebate as allotment is against your husband only.
2. Your name seems to appeared on CD only Against the column Spouse.. which is only fulfilling Delhi Government clause " name of souse in CD is compulsory for all the Delhi Properties"
3. Before possession of flat only principle part is eligible for tax rebate and which would be under 1 lakh limit (Sec-80C), after possession or the financial year in which possession has been made concerned are eligible for intreset tax rebate also for Without possession of flat:
ex. EMI deduction started in Jan-12 onwards of Rs 20000 (15000 Interest + 5000 principle), and possession of flat is in August 2012,
A) then Rs. 15000 rebate under 1lakh eligible for FY 2011-12
B) and Interest rebate of 1.5 lakh maximum (12*15000 is more than 1.5 lakh) is rebate would be in FY 2012-13.

Spouse eligible for tax rebate in case of joint allotment and any payment against that property
regarding information to Government:
In case of allotment against your name then information is compulsory as need to be mentioned annually in immovable Property return (AIPR)
only name appearing against souse in CD depend on yourself whether information should be sent or not,
For more concrete information concerned department of Delhi Govt,. would be asked.
Member pl share their information regarding the same.

regards,
Naren

Govt. employee must inform their HOD as service rules are concerned.
You may just send an application mentioning your allotment in the draw
and asking for purmission to purchase the flat. Also attach copy of
allotment letter It will serve the purposes & you continue the
process.

My challenge is that the allotment is in my husband's name. Dda has made my a party by including my name in the CD. My office people may ask for my husband's bank statement etc, which they have done in earlier similar cases. Though the margin money has been paid by my husband from his account, i am a co applicant in the loan. Please guide me how to approach this. Does anyone have a format of letter to submit?

Refer to the attachment. It has the guidelines related to the matter under discussion. The same should be more or less applicable in your case.

I also suggest that you intimate your department now, and do not wait for execution of the conveyance deed.
