Sample Objection Letter

Dear All

I am attaching along with a sample objection letter that has been drafted by Mr BB Biswas on our request.

This letter contains our objections against the assessment of Annual Valuation of our property at Dcw .

The valuation is on a much higher side and should be reduced by atleast 45-50%.

However this is just a sample letter to give us an idea regarding the different points of objections that we can give in our submission during the hearing.

Rest all shall be discussed at the meeting tomorrow.

Please give your inputs too so that other points of objections can be placed too and a final letter can be generated for all to submit in the hearing which starts from 10/02/2014.

Thanks to Deepak, Manoshi and Shri B B Biswas for prompt coordination and preparation of draft.However it would be better to file the objection petition to the Assessor-Collector(SSU) or Deputy Assessor-Collector(SSU) Kolkata Municipal Corporation at the earliest along with a request for extension of time for oral hearing. Those who have already applied for mutation should also submit a copy of receipt in order to avoid levy of the fees again..

The letter is nicely drafted.Please intimate whether the final letter of protest individually can be signed and scanned and be submitted by any other person in absence of owner.

Dear DCWIANS,

i am very much thankful for the letter so drafted for us in order to challenge the KMC,  so that we get an appropriate tax rates.

but, i would like to highlight to the point below, with a very small knowledge on the subject, i suggest, that writing the below lines in the letter will  be going deaf ears of the KMC officials. they will not be showing any sympathy on us. we can only fight with logics. we shall point out the fact that as per the KMC  rules, they cannot hv same rates with diamond city west in Behala  and diamond city south of Tollygunge.

"If a reasonable Annual Valuation of my flat is not assessed,I shall be compelled to dispose the property and seek accommodation in the places where property  valuation is less."
