Fellow Presidents,

As this school years progresses I thought it was time to increase collaboration between our schools student bodies on issues relevant to student life in the DC Area. In the vein, I am hoping that we can all sit down and meet next Thursday (October 5th) at 8pm at GWU. I realize that not all of you will be able to attend this meeting. If you can’t please feel free to send a representative on your behalf. If you could please RSVP to wyl...@gwu.edu by the end of this week so that we have an accurate count of how many people will be in attendance.

Respectfully,
Lamar A. Thorpe

Lamar,

I would be happy to meet however I do not understand why a meeting time has to be set so arbitrarily. I have class at that time.

Why can't everyone just send times that they are available to meet, in the broadest sense, and then we can choose a time that works for everyone?  I think its important that we develop face to face relationships and sending representatives doesn't always do the trick.

Thanks,

Ashley

Lamar,

Thanks for sending the email and meeting request.

I do agree that we all need to meet face-to-face.  I am eager to meet the other presidents and I do not want to send a representative.  It is important for all of us to meet at least early on and perhaps throughout.

I am available mostly on Mondays and Wednesday evenings after 6:00 p.m.  I am also available on Sundays to meet (I travel extensively, so depending which weekend).

If you should pick a Monday or Wednesday, I will work to clear my schedule and make the meeting my first priority.

Thank you once again for your diligence.

William

Okay folks,

Disregard my last e-mail. E-mail Wylie (wylieb@gwu) he works in the
SA Office and let him know what day and time work best for all of
you. Last time I tried leaving the option open for people to let me
know what day and time worked best didn't generate much feed back but
plenty of confusion. So, please REPLY and that is how we will get
through this. THANKS!

ASHELY: Add Wylie (wyl...@gwu.edu) to our listserv so he can
coordinate this meeting--THANKS!

Lamar

Greetings from Gallaudet-

I only have one request and that is to seal the time and location of the meeting itself.  The reason is because I have to arrange for an interpreter.  I hope you all can honor my request.

As for my schedule, any time after 5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays works the best for me.

I also have another request; I would like to set up a meeting with some president who are familiar with the issue of shared governance.  I need your help since I will have Board of Trustees meeting happening next week on Friday.  We will address the issue of shared governance to the trustees.  If anyone is interested, please contact me and I’ll arrange a meeting as soon as possible.

With best regards,

Noah Beckman
