While DCT3 is primarily a multisport club formed to promote fitness, education, and training for multisport athletic events, we also believe in having a strong sense of community. This means being actively engaged in the community in which we live and train, and not exclusively by donating money to a select nonprofit. As a club/team, we will be organizing 3-5 hands-on volunteer events during 2013, partnering with the following local nonprofits:

Special Olympics of Washington, DC (EIN 52-0889518)
Mission: Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Martha’s Table (EIN 52-1186071)

Mission: Martha’s Table transforms lives by engaging the community in developing sustainable solutions to poverty. We meet core needs of our clients with education, nutrition, clothing, and family support programs that prepare young people, from infancy through adulthood, for a promising future.

Rock Creek Conservancy (EIN 20-3874333)
Mission: Rock Creek Conservancy works to promote a healthy and sustainable Rock Creek Watershed through conservation, education and restoration.

These DCT3-organized volunteer events will be designed in such a way that anyone can participate, no large amount of training will be necessary to participate, and no financial contribution will be required (i.e., we are donating our time and skills in lieu of money). In addition to meeting the intended purpose of giving back to our community, these events will be social in nature, providing an opportunity for team-building and socializing with teammates in a non-athletic setting.

Hope everyone can stop by on Saturday, November 3rd @ 4pm to learn more about the club, the races planned, and volunteer opportunities in 2013!

Cheers!
Judah

Judah,

Check your last two emails. The first lists 4 Nov at 4PM as the launch date. The second lists 3 Nov at 4PM as the launch date. Might want to clarify.

I'm in NH. Flying back Saturday and should be there on time but I may need to leave after the first hour to attend a family event with Marcela. Just FYI. Everything looks to be coming together very nicely.  It's going to be a great launch!!

See you soon.
