Dear all - many thanks to Rich and David for being at the DCSTFI orientation meeting last week. We had a lot of good questions from the incoming fellows and we were able to address many of them with Todd's help.

While we are wading through all of the changes in membership due to the incoming and outgoing fellows, we have two final orders of business as members of the 2012-2013 Board. One is to put together the report to the members. I will take on this responsibility, but I will need some help with data collection. In particular, we will need a monthly summary of the financials from January 2013 through September 2013, as well as overall figures for input and outlays. Rich, I can work with you on this and show you what I put together last year. It's fairly straightforward and shouldn't take too long to put together. David, if you can give me some idea of membership numbers, that would be very helpful for the report, as well.

The second order of business is the election of the 2013-2014 Board. Nichole & Rich - are you two interested in running for the board again? If so, let me know what office(s) you'd like to run for. We have at least two volunteers so far, but we will send out another blast this week, asking for more interested folks. We need to have the ballot out to the members no later than October 6, to give them 10 days for voting. David and I are no longer members of DCSTFI, so we are not eligible to sit on the Board. On a related note, the last two board meeting/elections have included pizza, beer, and sodas, which were paid for by DCSTFI. We had a lot of leftovers both years, so I'm wondering if we should continue to provide food and beverages. I know it's always a great way to get people to come to a meeting, but we've had 10-15 people total each year (and our membership is about 150-160 people!). I thought I should ask this question sooner rather than later!

Cheers - Heather
