Re: Invitation to AustralianAlumni official launch cocktail reception and leadership panel discussion.
To officially launch the AustralianAlumni program, we are delighted to invite all alumni of Australian
universities to a panel discussion and cocktail reception at the Sukhothai hotel on Wednesday 21 March. For the panel discussion, four prominent Australian graduates will talk about their journeys to leadership positions and how their Australian education helped prepare them for leadership roles. A cocktail reception will follow the panel the discussion. One lucky Alumni will leave the launch event with a ticket to Australia courtesy of Singapore Airlines! (This is in addition to another ticket that will given to an alumni who has registered with the AustralianAlumni website).
There is no charge for this event but numbers are strictly limited and will be allocated on
first-come first-served basis.

Khun Pichai Chuensuksawadi has been Editor-in-Chief of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in Bangkok, Thailand since 2002; taking overall charge of the Bangkok Post and Post Today newspapers and their websites. Before that, he was Editor of the Bangkok Post, from 1994 until 2002. From 1984 to 1994, he held a number of other positions at the newspaper, including: Perspectives Editor, News Editor (local news), Foreign Affairs reporter, Writer and Copy Editor among others. During 1993-1994, he was Special Assistant to the Secretary General of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dato' Ajit Singh in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also a Member of the IFRA Asia Committee, Chairman of the Bangkok Post Provident Fund, Chairman of the Bangkok Post Foundation and Vice Chairman of the Phud Hong Leper Foundation. He was a Member of the Press Council of Thailand from
1998 until 2002.

M.L. Kathathong has lived in Australia for 15 years from primary school to university. Now a senior official with the Department of International Trade Promotion, he identifies Australia as a very good market for Thai exports. The former captain of the national cricket team remains a popular celebrity model and presenter. M.L. Kathanthong is married to private banker with Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, ML Kwankamol Thongyai, and has two daughters, both currently studying in Australia.

He is now Honorary Chairman of the Bangkok Office. John served on the Board of Directors of several Thai Public Companies including Siam Commercial Bank, Serm Suk, Indorama and EGCO. Advisor to the Thailand Board of Trade, Director of Colliers Thailand and Chairman of John W. Hancock & Associates, which provides commercial advisory and corporate governance services.
Committed long time promoter of Thai-Australian relationships and the importance of alumni since 1970 via role as former Committee member and now Honorary Advisor to the Thai Australian Association (TAA), founding member of the Australian Businessmen's Luncheon Group, which became the Australian Thai Chamber of Commerce (AustCham), Committee Member and 2 time President of AustCham and now Honorary Member, Advisor to the Australian Thai Business Council (ATBC), Member of the Advisory Board of the Australian Studies Center (ASC) at Thammasat University, Member of the DFAT Australia Thailand Institute(ATI) and proponent of its funding for ASC, & AustCham/TAA Alumni development activities; and Member of the Alumni Advisory Committee, University of Adelaide.
