Job Title: Mainframe Delivery Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Delivery Lead with strong technical expertise in legacy modernization, application support, and enterprise delivery management within financial services environments. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in mainframe technologies, project delivery, stakeholder management, and SDLC methodologies, along with the ability to lead complex end-to-end initiatives in high-volume enterprise systems.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills to manage cross-functional teams, drive successful project execution, and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

Required Technical & Functional Skills

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
    • PL1
    • COBOL
    • DB2
    • JCL
    • SQL Stored Procedure Development
  • Experience working with:
    • RTC
    • IDZ tools
    • Jira
    • Confluence
  • Knowledge of:
    • Online CICS
    • MQ
    • Batch Processing
  • Experience using support and debugging tools such as:
    • SPUFI
    • FILE-AID
  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills

Industry & Delivery Experience

  • Proven IT project management experience, preferably within Financial Services or Custody domains
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall models
  • Experience coordinating development, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization activities

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end projects including:
    • Requirements gathering
    • Solution design
    • Development coordination
    • Testing oversight
    • Production cutover
    • Hypercare support
  • Manage RAID logs and provide regular project status updates to senior leadership through Clarity
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure production readiness for successful go-live execution
  • Monitor post-production stability and drive issue resolution activities

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise risk, compliance, and audit standards
  • Maintain accurate and auditable change management records
  • Support IT budget planning and project time tracking activities within Clarity

Agile Delivery & Development Support

  • Participate in all phases of software development lifecycle including design, implementation, deployment, and support
  • Apply Agile methodologies to optimize development and testing efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across delivery processes

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Technology, Product, and Compliance teams to manage dependencies and resolve delivery challenges
  • Lead teams through complex production cutovers and stabilization phases
  • Demonstrate initiative, multitasking capabilities, and ownership in a fast-paced environment
