All,
I have a few exciting updates that I’d like to share.
First - at our August 7 meeting, I shared an early draft of a one-page visual that mapped out what we are trying to accomplish in DC and the benefits of sharing standardized data on services. In order to better explain the elements of this (sometimes complicated) domain, I put together a 10 slide presentation on the subject that can be found here. This is just a draft — we welcome all feedback and suggestions! Do you think an element could be better explained? What other concepts do you want to better understand?
Next - Bread for the City is awfully close to building a resource directory tool in their intake software that will be able to speak with our platform and absorb its data. Not only will this streamline their intake process, but it will also lead to more meaningful referrals. We’ll be excited to demo it to you all when it’s complete. Stay tuned for that announcement.
Lastly - I’d also like to share with you that this is my last week as the Lead Organizer for this project. I’ve been offered an amazing opportunity to do communications work at Planned Parenthood. It has truly been a pleasure to work with all of you and your wonderful organizations. This project has gained a tremendous amount of community support and I have no doubt that it will continue to gain traction moving forward. If you have any questions at all for me this week, please don’t hesitate to send them my way. Greg will continue to be your contact after this Friday, October 3. Many, many thanks to you all for working with me and dedicating your time and expertise to DC Open 211 this far.
Respectfully,
Jenn
