Dear members of the DCR community,
The recent joint workshop between OptMAS and DCR at AAMAS 2014 went very well; we had a very healthy number of submissions (~20) and attendees at the workshop.
Based on that success, we realized that there is a large amount of overlap of researchers and their research interests between OptMAS and DCR. For example, OptMAS often gets a good number of DCR-related submissions and a good number of DCR researchers also conduct multi-agent optimization research that is non-DCR related.
As such, several key members of the DCR community who were at AAMAS, including Roger Mailler, Amnon Meisels, Marius Silaghi, and Makoto Yokoo, came together and collectively agreed that it is a good idea that the DCR workshops be merged together with OptMAS. The new workshop will still be called OptMAS as we felt that DCR research falls under the larger multi-agent optimization umbrella of OptMAS.
We hope that this merger will bring the OptMAS and DCR communities closer such that we can better exploit synergistic collaborations with each other.
Hope to see you at OptMAS next year, which will be held in conjunction with AAMAS at Istanbul, Turkey!
Signing off for the last time,
Roie Zivan and William Yeoh
