Commissioners,
Please let me know if you are interested in serving as a grant reviewer for the Mayor’s 2019 Immigrant Justice Legal Services (IJLS) Grant Program.
As you are aware, the IJLS grants are intended to fund programs that provide targeted services and resources to the DC immigrant population. The FY 2019 Immigrant Justice Legal Services Grant Program offers one-time grants of up to $150,000 to CBOs with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status, as well as private organizations, associations and law firms that plan to mobilize pro bono talent or skilled immigration attorneys and legal professionals in order to provide immigrant justice legal services. For more information, the Request for Applications can be found on our website.
At this point, we are working to finalize our panel of peer reviewers. Reviewers will have two weeks (August 17 – August 31) to read, score and evaluate proposals via your own computer through Zoomgrants. You may be assigned between 3-4 applications for review.
If you are interested in serving as a grant reviewer, please let me know as soon as possible. Please note that reviewers will have to sign the attached conflict of interest and confidentiality agreements.
Best regards,

Hi Henry and Rosie,
Is there a portal or resources page for those seeking services from grantees of IJLS?
I was looking through the resources on the website of Office, and many of the links do not work, nd there are no resources about IJLS grantees and types of services they offer to immigrant community in D.C. https://apia.dc.gov/immigration-resources
It may be worthwhile to have a more detail information and web resources.
I was in fact asked by a community member for a legal help and housing resources for an immigrant family get caught in immigration enforcement and detained, and previously exploited by former employer on the basis of (lack of) immigration status.
It would great if we can direct them to right resources and help. I had shared some resources on legal and other helps they may be able to get.
Sincerely,
Niranjan ("Nir") Adhikari
