As many of you may know DC Chinatown is far from what it used to be -- previously home to thousands of immigrant families and working families of color, Chinatown is now almost completely gentrified. A limited number of small businesses still stand and a few hundred families/seniors remain in continued struggle to preserve the two affordable housing complexes left in the neighborhood.
Passing along a petition organized by local Asian American youth group AALEAD Youth Council, in support of the Chinatown community's struggle against displacement. See below:

Subject: Take Action to Support Chinatown DC!- Petition
Hi everyone
Please take a moment to help circulate and sign this petition in support of DC Chinatown organizing efforts!
As you all know DC's Chinatown has already been struggling with displacement for many years and there are just a few developments left which house low income community members. A hotel is slated to be built in one of the last blocks of Chinatown where low income residents live. Please share and circulate widely!
