Lose Your Mind
With their blend of highly political yet street-tough hip-hop, independent Philly underground champs Jedi Mind Tricks are as outspoken as they are unmatched. On the road supporting JMT is fellow Philly MC Mr. Lif, who also brings some politically charged rap mayhem to the table. In what is always a banger, this Saturday Jedi Mind Tricks and Mr. Lif will give their southerly neighbors a history of hard hip-hop when they return to the 9:30 Club stage.

The In Crowd
The Crowd Control Tour may be the best tour combination of rising rap stars yet. This super set is anchored by under-the-radar duo Kidz in the Hall and producer/rapper 88-Keys. Tagging along are up-and-coming Southern rap artists Izza Kizza and Donnis, who both have recently released scorching mixtapes. D.C. rap staple Tabi Bonney will set things off with a killer opening set. These artists boast that they’re “banding together to save your city”, so when they arrive in D.C. on Sunday, expect some hype crowds losing control.

Time of Your Life
The Disco Biscuits' shows offer generous helpings of mind-blowing prog-fueled electronic rock, dizzying lights, and setlists so long they appear tome-like. Those who venture into one of their shows seem to instantaneously devote their lives to the Philly natives’ massive following. What better way to spend your tax refund than with the band on April 20 at 9:30 Club? Stick it to the man and have a blast with the Biscuits all at the same time.
