Please, Help.

I'm new to DCM4CHEE and also new to the Java world. My boss has asked me to install DCM4CHEE in our server for testing purposes, and I have the least clue abouty how to do it.

I've gone trough the installation document at http://www.dcm4che.org/confluence/display/ee2/Installation but it says nothing about the version of Java to use except not to use neither JDK6 nor JDK7.

Should I use JDK 8 or JRE 8 32 bit? should I use another version of Java?
Should I use ONLY JBoss Application Server 4.2.3.GA?
Which version of TOMCAT do I have to install?
Will it work with SQL Server 2014?

Best regards,

Bruno.

I have written an small blog on how to migrate from a old dcm4chee to new dcm4chee, in this there is a topic of installing a new dcm4chee. This topic have the list of components that need to be installed with version nos. Check the link if you are interested.   For quick access to the content, read below...

1. Install DCM4Chee on the New Server.

For a novice to implement DCM4Chee PACS is quite a task, we had failed few times before we can succeed.  We followed the steps explained in this link .

Some Tips.

  1. These are the components we used for this setup. (Download link)
    • jtds-1.3.1-dist
    • JDK 32 bit (jdk-7u25-windows-i586 ) as we are using J2k compression.
    • JBoss-4.2.3.GA
    • Jtds-1.3.1-dist
    • dcm4chee-2.17.1-mysql
    • dcm4chee-arr-3.0.11-mysql
  2. If you are installing on a Windows 64 bit and would like to compress the archive, then install 32bit JDK.
  3. Make the necessary changes suggested in section (8. Mac OSX and Windows x64 specific changes for the WADO service), in the Installation manual.

After some basic test as suggested in section (16. Test DICOM storage & 17. Test object retrieval) sections of installation link.  Now the system is ready for Data Migration.
