first time Setting up DCM4CHEE as DICOM server for receiving ultrasound machine images

Hello everyone,

I am new to use on dcm4chee. Would you please let me know how I can set it up to use as DICOM server step by step so that I would be able to send the images from US machine to it? looks like all installation procedure went fine, I am able to open both JBOSS console ( database is MS SQL and connected ) and dcm4chee webpage with admin / admin. what I've done so far I added two AE/IP and ports in the Application Entities tab through dcm4chee web page(http://localhost:8080/dcm4chee-web3/ ), one for US machine and one for dcm4chee as server , no password or user names added to the list and no cipher used. I added IP, port( like 104)  and AE of dcm4chee computer into US machine too, but still having problem and images not receiving in the dcm4chee. I can ping US in dcm4chee and Vice Versa but ECHO test function fails. I checked the firewall and it's all off. I really appreciate your comment

In the post you say that you created two AE titles one for the dcm4chee server and other for the US machine, you haven't to create an AE title for the dcm4chee server.
When you install dcm4chee default settings for the dcm4chee server are created with AE Title DCM4CHEE and port 11112 and you can test first with the default value.
You can use the dcm4chee admin page (dcm4chee-web3) to add new AE Titles but to define a new AE Title and port for the dcm4chee server you must use the jmx-console.

Thank you so much for your comment, I was able to send the images to dcm3chee through the port 11112.

The thing is that I only added dcm4chee as dicom server in US machine and I deleted US machine AE/IP /port from the list in dcm4chee-web 3 page, Application Entities tab. There is only DCM4CHEE and CDRECORD left and it did work for me however I haven't started to use the DICOM viewer. the question , Isn't adding AE/IP/Port of modalities required? What is the meaning of New AET ? or in another word what is the purpose of Application Entities tab and +AET button page in dcm4chee-web3 page?

The main reason is to add other DICOM locations that you might want to send to from dcm4chee e.g. destination AE when you select a study for 'Export' or for auto forwarding using the 'forward' service.
