Good day, I want kindly to have an information.
In order to identify a study as a visit to which a patient has undergone, in the context of DICOM images of a PACS server, is it better to use the Accession Number or the Study ID?

Admission ID (0038,0010)
Issuer of Admission ID Sequence (0038,0014)

In dcm4chee-arc-5.x they are stored on study level, because there is no Visit entity between Patient and Study in its data model.

Thanks for the response, but with "Admission ID",what exactly do you mean?
For identify a Patient I use "PAtient ID" to identify him, that is one of the fields that a call to a PACS server DICOM returns and it is ok, but with "Admission ID", What does the documentation refer to?

There was no Encounter-Based Imaging Workflow defined, when I stopped development on dcm4chee-2.x about 8 years ago!

Accession Number - Study ID is rather a short alias for the Study Instance UID, which may/should match with the Requested Procedure ID in the MWL item

Accession Nummer identifies an Order, which potentially includes several Studies, Study ID a single Study. Hence an Order has more in common with a Visit than a single Study.
