German-"Umlaute" , "Müller" => "M?ller", dcmrcv

Hello,

I'm using a debian-server to run a dicom-listener

Everything works fine, except German-"Umlaute" (äöü) in the PatientName.

I start this server by adding the following line to "rc.local"
/home/mri/dcm4che-2.0.28/bin/dcmrcv AGMRI:2806 -dest /data/datenin/&

I've already found

Therefore I thought I should add

export LC_ALL=ISO-8859-1
export LANG="LC_ALL"

before starting my dcmrcv.

But the results are still the same: "Müller" => "M?ller"

As the question was from 2008 I wanted to know if there is any other / newer possibility to fix this problem?

Or any additional hints?
