Patient Matching - 'ambigious error'

Hi

I have constant problems with patient matching (as in topic) - sometimes when trying to create patient (via sending HL7 ORM message from our RIS system) i receive 'ambigious patient something something something...' error (as in topic).

Our RIS handle two CRs (which of course are connected to DCM4CHEE) and there is another modality - MR - which is not used with RIS (but still with DCM4CHEE).

So patients are coming to PACS either as HL7 ORM messages from RIS or extracted from image tags (when coming from MR).

I have no feedback about using MR to create patients, but sometimes trying to register patient through RIS result in above mentioned error.

Pretty obvious as it is, error only occurs if patient already exist created by MR.

I guess that problem exist in patient matching (cause where else ?). MR seems to not filling 'Issuer of Patient ID' field (at least this is only visible difference and fixing it seems to solve problem for future usecases).

I'm confused since as Patient Matching rules in my HL7Server ORM i have only 'pid,issuer?' which AFAIK should match records against patient ids (as i understand with '?' issuer is pretty much optional)

And yes, pids are matching.
