DCM4CHEE "Show DICOM OBJECT" button doesn't work with 16-bit images (maybe)

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to preview single images through DCM4CHEE without having to go into Weasis. The Show DICOM Object button at the Series level should accomplish this, as far as I know. However, instead of an image, all that shows up in the new panel is the phrase "Not an image". The images are MONOCHROME2, 16-bit, and 512x512. This is the error I get when I check the server log (with debug on for more info if it helps at all):

From what I can tell, for some reason, it wants the band size to be <=8. I think that means it won't work for 16 bit images. Can anyone confirm this, and if it is the case, possibly explain how I can go about fixing this issue?
