Clearcanvas Viewer (WADO) and dcm4chee is a good combination for many Windows Users.

I always felt that Clearcanvas is a good Open Source resource, since couple of years we had only the source but not the binaries in easy setup form. Clearcanvas team has now created a new feel of their release to the community.

For dcm4chee, Query Retrieve with Clearcanvas will work, but I am interested in streaming via WADO. Clearcanvas Workstation uses a separate http based Header Streaming to get the list of Images UIDs for WADO, this limits the Clearcanvas Workstation to stream WADO only from Clearcanvas Server not from any DICOM Server that supports WADO and Q/R SCP(old users) QIDO-RS for new version.. I am working on a small project that can eliminate this and ensure the normal C_Find request or QIDO-RS can be used to fetch this information. This will help users to use WADO without the need of any special customisation on dcm4chee side.

Any interested user please share your thoughts.

I have downloaded CC Viewer, successfully get patient list and verify current DCM4CHEE Pacs server but cannot retrieve images.

Do you have ClearCanvas ImageStreaming Enabled? Because this does only work if you connect to a ClearCanvas PACS. For dcm4chee this should be disabled.

And you said you C-ECHO verification is successful?

You need to configure the AET of CC Viewer in DCM4CHEE for retrieve. You find the retrieved studies under "My Studies" in CC Viewer's Explorer. This was the way it works here in my setting...

Hello Algie,

yes that's why you get this error message, you need to disable it. In the clearcanvas workstation where you set up the details of the dcm4chee server there is a checkbox "ClearCanvas ImageStreaming" which you need to uncheck. Then it should work

And what if you use the "retrieve" button ? Or right click on a study and retrieve?

Check if there is any firewall that is blocking the Clearcavnas Workstation DICOM Port. When you retrieve the CC workstation plays a role of a Storage SCP and the DCM4Chee plays the role of Storage SCU. So dcm4chee will try to send you images and the firewall could block the incoming connections at CC workstation end.
