Hi,

I'm looking to set up a instance of dcm4chee-arc-light running under Docker on a Synology NAS (DS1621xs+).

Just wondering if anyone had any useful tips to help me get started? In particular, I've read that the provided packages for Docker are quite out of date, and that the recommended install is to "roll your own"...

Is it straightforward to e.g. use a docker-compose.yml through an interactive shell on the Synology box? I've got a reasonable amount of linux experience and have previously built a working secure archive on Ubuntu, but this will be new in lots of different ways. Slight performance anxiety!

Any hints or tips would be very welcome.

Best wishes,
Jon

Just to clarify, I didn’t mean that the packages provided by the maintainers are out of date, just the ones available through the synology channels…

you would need:
- Install DOCKER in Synology
- Activate SSH in Synology

deploy docker-compose.yml  as in  https://github.com/dcm4che/dcm4chee-arc-light/wiki/Running-on-Docker via SSH.

make sure to replace PostgreSQL port other than 5432 as it is already used in Synology.

Dear Dr Metab,

Thanks for your advice and the useful info about Postgres SQL’s port.

Best wishes,
Jon
