This is a big release — major new features plus some significant upgrades under the hood. Available for download, see the full release notes.

 What's new
  • Redesigned view synchronization — per-view auto-sync with Frame-of-Reference-aware grouping, fine-grained per-action control (scroll, zoom, W/L, …), and a new manual-sync mode to link series that don't share a frame of reference.
  •  3D & MPR — OpenGL volume rendering backend (now works on macOS), segmentation overlays in the 3D renderer and MPR views, MPR crosshair cut mode, color rendering and DICOM export of MPR views, and an integrated MIP mode in the standard 2D viewer.
  • DICOM Segmentation — support for FRACTIONAL and LABELMAP types, plus several decoding fixes.
  • Smoother workflow — unified import with ZIP drag-and-drop, native system file chooser, customizable keyboard shortcuts, a new date picker, and a resource monitor with improved native (off-heap) memory management.

  Under the hood
  • Now build on Java 25 LTS and run on JDK 26.0.1.
  • All HTTP traffic now uses the modern java.net.http.HttpClient (legacy paths removed); DICOMweb authentication also gains OAuth2 Client Credentials support.
  • Updated DICOM toolkit (weasis-dicom-tools 5.34.3) and many other libraries.

Help us out: because this release ships major features and large library upgrades, a few rough edges may have slipped through. If you hit a bug, please report it at https://github.com/nroduit/Weasis/issues — details (steps, sample data, logs) help a lot.
