Hello everyone,

I am working on integrating a PACS system and have a workflow that works as follows:

  1. I send the study data to the Worklist.
  2. Then, using a .py file, I query the Worklist to obtain the study data, generate a DICOM using a simulation image and the obtained data, and send it to the PACS.
  3. This process results in the Scheduled Procedure Step Status being updated to COMPLETED.

Now, what I want to achieve is for an automatic notification to be sent to the Health Information System (HIS) informing that the study has been completed when the status changes to COMPLETED.

My questions are as follows:

  • What configuration or event should I implement in the PACS to trigger this notification?
  • Has anyone implemented a similar solution and could share their experience?

Any guidance, resources, or advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Ana Laura

I've followed the instructions at https://github.com/dcm4che/dcm4chee-arc-light/wiki/Notify-external-HL7-Receivers-on-Procedure-Status-Updates to using the Study Received Trigger  to have HL7 messages sent.

Hi Todd,

Thank you so much for your help! I was able to implement the solution you suggested, and now the notifications are being sent to the Health Information System upon completion of the studies. Your guidance was invaluable!

Best regards,

Ana Laura

Hi. Can you help me set up auto forwarding of incoming studies on a pacs dcm4chee 5.33 installed on docker on one machine to another pacs dcm4che 5.33 on another machine?

Roberto,

Try using the instructions found on the Wiki for forwarding incoming instances:
