Notification when new instance is ready to be fetched using WADO

Hello,

I am planning to implement database poller to dcm4chee instance database table which will immediately notify the thumbnail generator if a new instance is stored to the database. Thumbnail generator will then use the WADO to get the actual image and generate the thumbnail.

The process will go like this:

poll table -> new row added -> (check availability?) -> fetch instance using wado -> generate thumbnail 

Two questions:

Is the instance table the correct way to get the notification?

When a new row is added to the table is the image already available using WADO or is there also some status columns which should be checked before making the WADO request?

Any other issues?
