Linux weasis viewer with icedtea for every picture reloads whole weasis program

We are in migrating all our IT to Linux and use weasis viewer. Under windows once loaded the weasis aplication and other pictures opened in new tab. On Ubuntu 12.04 with icedtea-plugin in firefox for every picture you open, loads all the weasis application. Is there a way to configure it, that it opens the 2nd, 3rd, ... picture in new tabs in the already loaded application.

I'm also working on Linux and I'm disappointed of the icedtea-plugin because after several years of release the basic services like SingleInstanceService don't work correctly. Another big issue is that the jars are downloaded every time. So I finally installed the oracle-java package as default java. 

As long as the single instance service and the jar cache do not work correctly in icedtea, I recommend to use the oracle java version.
