Question:  I thought that if dcm4chee receives duplicate studies it will drop them from being written to the hard drive?  I sent over approx 80gb of studies from Osirix which amounted to 1,150 studies -- dcm4chee only processed 300 new studies but kept all data sent over (the 80gb).  Wouldnt the database recognize that the study is already there and drop the incoming images from being written?  I didnt receive any errors from either Osirix or dcm4chee so I think it all checks out on the processing of said studies.

Thanks,
Matt

By default dcm4chee will store a duplicate if the MD5 checksum is different to the stored copy. This behavior is configurable storescp->StoreDuplicatesIfDifferentMD5

Thanks for the reply, I looked at that before in the storescp and wasnt sure why that would be the case since I have used the dcmsnd tool to import and have seen it just drop duplicate files without me modifying the md5 in jboss.

Looks like Osirix added a few bytes to the image?  This is the same story for each instance that I check.  I guess I should turn off the duplicat if MD5 is different?
