weasis opensource methods

Hello.
I am trying to understand weasis open source code but I confused. In which java file can I find the image that viewer displays the current time?
Is it dicom? How can I convert it to an object like BufferedImage?
There is not any documentation about the code and it's a little hard to understand the flow..

I've started to write documentation on "how to build a plugin", but unfortunately my time for doing that is very limited.
