Setting up a external archival AE title for export, long term archival and retrieval if data is not present in the current storage

Hi Everyone,

I want to setup a long term archival. We went through the dcm4chee wiki page and its bit confusing. Can anyone tell what the ways are to achieve long term archival?

Requirements:

- To setup long term archival as a separate AE title

- When the data comes to the main PACS, it should transfer it to the external archive.

- We also want a way to retrieve the data if the current PACS does not have data (data might have been purged).

Things we tried:

1:

- Setting multiple storage descriptor in the same PACS (not suitable)

2:

- Created separate storage descriptor under the same device and created a new AE title and attached the new storage to that.

- Created an exporter descriptor then created a exporter rule for the source AE title.

- The export task is not being scheduled by dcm4chee.

for the 2nd scenario we also need the exact field values in order for it to work properly. If someone has setup this, please share the details.
