Hello,

I have been working with Weasis for about 3 weeks now and everything is going very well.  I ran into an issue today where the PET CT studies are showing color intensity in shades of blue and they should be in shades from light yellow to dark red.  I will attach a screenshot of what it looks like on the PACS server as well when I view it with microdicom viewer.   It only displays in blue on Weasis and it needs to be in red.  Thanks!

Could you share an image?

Hi Nicolas,

Thank you for the reply!  Are you able to see the 2 screenshots in my original post?  If not, I can repost them. If the screenshots do not provide enough information I can provide you with an image in the study pulled off the PACS server tomorrow when I return to the office.

Thanks,

JR

Yes, I need a DICOM file to investigate. Thanks.

I could see the problem which is located in the native library (was working correctly in the old Weasis versions). I hope to be able to fix it in the next release even if I still need to know how to solve this problem.

FYI the issue has been fixed and will be available in the next release.

However, the encoding of this image is really special: encoded in BigEndian (removed from the DICOM standard) with a VR OW (16-bit) while the image has an 8-bit pixel depth in RGB. The values are encoded:
G1 B1 R2 B1 G2 B2 instead of
R1 G1 B1 R2 B2 G2

In short, if the image was encoded in LittleEndian or the VR would be OB then the image would be displayed correctly.
