Setup DCM4CHE - New Instalation, How to?

Hello,

 

I´m new for DCM4CHE and I´m starting a new instalation on windows server 2008 x64, is there any book or guide to install and principal setup, besides the one that is on the website?

 

With windows 2008 x64 bits can I still have compression on the images? Because I need to save storage space and i read this:

 

"For Mac OSX and 64 bit Java on Windows there is no free, native Image I/O implementation available. Because of the missing implementations you have to change a file in dcm4chee if you want to have the WADO service running. Please have a look at step 8 to see how to change the file (or modify the settings via the JMX console)."

Just install the 32 bit version of Java on Windows 2008 x64. It works fine and you can use compression.

I am in the same shoes as you Tiago,
Anyone out there with a straight forward installation manual?
So far I have downloaded most required software, and now need to create a database.
if anyone has free time to help with a complete setup, please contact me as I prefer to have an expert deal with this.
Any help is appreciated.

You can use this link, http://radyworks.wordpress.com/2013/09/08/dcm4chee-migration-made-easy-in-couple-of-hours/. This is basically for migrating old pacs data to a new pacs. In the subheading 1. Install DCM4Chee on the New Server, you can find some very basic steps to install a DCM4chee in Windows x64 pc. 

Use the same file name (mentioned in the article) to search the web for sub components for DCM4chee. If you have pointed queries please post here, I would be glad to explain.

I already setup the dcm4chee server, and test sending and receiving images from osirix workstation and everything is working.

Know how can I check if the images are really been compressed?

I setup like this the argument: [calling=US_AE]JLSL

Besides this I have problems in Jboss when try to add or editing the aetitle, I receive HTTP STATUS 500:

Does anyone have some instructions to limit/restrict access to DICOM viewers to exams on the DCMCHEE server?

This is really all you need to setup a dcm4chee install.  There are links for the various database installs to follow, then come back and continue.

The link you posted is very in-depth, but mainly related to building the project from svn.  Not something 99% of users will need to do..

You should read through it a few times and plan out how you will do things.  

It is relatively  simple to install and run, change some settings, select AEtitle etc..  Pretty much anything you need to get up and running is on this page.
