Hi,

Does Dcm4che work on IPV6 network.  What are other DICOM & HL7 tools available for IPV6. Any pointers could help.

Regards,
Satyam

Dear Satyam,

People on this group answer questions on their own time; if you don't get a response this means that we may be busy.
I think you will find that you get a better response if you are polite and patient.

Hi Aaron & Group,

I am sorry if I appeared rude & impatient it was not my intention.
I am looking for a DICOM tool which supports IPV6. Since Dcm4che is developed on Java, I am hopeful that it would support IPV6.  Has anyone tested on IPV6 network .does it work?

Satyam

I would start by assuming IPV6 is supported then test to verify - see http://download.java.net/jdk8/docs/technotes/guides/net/ipv6_guide/index.html which states:
"You can run any Java applications, client or server, on an IPv6-enabled platform, and that application will automatically become IPv6-enabled."

Hi,

I am also looking forward to run DCM4CHEE / PostgreSQL on IPV6 enabled platform, but I am not sure if JDK 6 will support IPV6 since dcm4chee does not support latest JDK I do not have much option. Can any one let me know if DCM4CHEE while using JDK6 will run on IPV6 enabled platform

Hi,

I haven't tested dcm4chee with IPv6, but I can assure you it does work with JDK7. I haven't still tested well with JDK8 although I think we had some problems.

Hi Dhaval,

Yes I have several clients with Oracle JDK 7 and the native JAI Image IO libraries, with no special configuration.

Ok Thanks, I will try that, As far as I remember last when I tried it gave me bunch of errors from Apache commons library , I was using DCM4CHEE 2.17.0, You think that version will work with JDK 7 ? Which version do you use ?

Hello Dhaval,,

I have a question and I just saw you are the latest user in the forum I wanted to ask you:
I am new in dcm4chee and I installed it along with all requirements  like JBOSS and database MS-SQL and in terms of DBs I can say it works with no error connection and I can get to open the webpage http://localhost:8080/dcm4chee-web3/ so I would like to run the DICOM server and to be able to export/store the ultrasound images to the dcm4chee ( and later to use Oviyam for view ) but have still problem with DICOM server and I don't know how/where to set it up properly and missing something. I added AE, IP and ports through Application Entities tab in the link above ( ...web3 ) but I can not get it run yet.
Is there any service or other configurations that I have to add in JBOSS or any other files? I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks
