import pdf format to DCM4CHEE

Hi All,

 Is it possible to import pdf file to DCM4CHEE? Like what modalities to DCM4CHEE do? Please see attached pdf sample.

Yes, it’s possible. DICOM Encapsulated PDF Storage SOP instance is supported by dcm4chee. Use the pdf2dcm utility to convert the PDF accordingly.

Thank you so much for the reply, does this required a pdf format structure? how does it know what string in pdf was the patient name, age, etc..? 

Lastly, how to embed this to my codes?

I found the pdf2dcm.exe inside tools folder..

The DICOM information is wrapped around the PDF file.

Sorry, but im a newbiew in DCM4CHEE, how to embed the pdf2dcm.exe in my code?

pdf2dcm is available as batch file for Windows and .sh file for Linux. You can invoke it like how you normally call external applications from an application.

Syntax :

pdf2dcm [Options] <pdffile> <dcmfile>
