Adding a new AET in dcm4chee_arc v5.10.5

I've added a new AET using Archive UI on the same device as DCM4CHEE, DCM4CHEE_ADMIN and DCM4CHEE_TRASH are—dcm4chee-arc and on the same network connection—localhost:11112. First, when I do an echo test on the new AET, it takes a few minutes and eventually comes back with the error "Failed to connect: java.io.EOFException". Second, when I go to Studies view, the new AET only shows up in the dropdown when "External AET" option is selected. Is there any way to make a new one as an internal one? What could be the culprit for the connectivity issue?
