Hello community,

I am working on a small project to get a PACS server running on a Synology NAS server with the components dcm4chee, jBoss, mariaDB. I am able to push DCM images to the server and they also seem to be uploaded correctly. I can see the patient in the dcm4chee database and I can also find the image in the default storage location.

It seems that  I can also establish a connection between a viewer (e.g. Oviyam) and the PACS server because the patients are listed also there. The point is that I cannot open the image. I tried out numerous of other PACS viewers (e.g. ClearCanvas, Weasis, RadiAnt) and all seem to have the same problems. Connection is there but image cannot be displayed. I also do not get any error messages which give more details. The viewers seem to just get stuck in the retreiving process and nothing happens. It shouldn't be a big deal to get this PACS running isn't it?

Can anybody help me with that?

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: At least the Oviyam viewer which is installed on the NAS server is working. I changed from WADO service to C-MOVE. Other viewers on a different machine still do not display the images.

Have you looked at the server.log file to check for errors?

You have mentioned about C-Move is not working and Oviyam is able to display the images, then I suggest have a look at firewall setting at the viewer pc. in C-Move the images are pushed from the dcm4chee to the viewer, ie... the viewer acts as a storage SCP. Opening the firewall for the respective port should fix the issue.  Check WADO Client, this will not use c-store rather pull the images via http port as configured - remember to open this port on the NAS box side if needed.

with regards

Hi Rady

Thanks for your advice.
We did not have a C-move problem but a WADO problem.

With C-Move and disabled firewall we can retrieve images (with Radiant viewer)
With C-move or C-get and Oviyam on the nas itself it works fine even on a firewalled PC

WADO however we still have a problem. We can retrieve patient data but not the image
You mention to open the port on the NAS (i assume port 8080) but the nas is not connected to Internet (due to company security issues). The nas doesn't give the option to forward ports on internal netwerk only.
Wado on the NAS itself (With Oviyam) is also not working so we think the issue is not the port forwarding. It seems that WADO service on the nas is not running properly.

Anymore ideas?

Hi,

I did have the same problem: downgrading to a DSM 5.x version solved it.

In OVIYAM settings set listener to port 11112 and your AE Title. in
dcm4chee-web3/?wicket:interface=:0:::: set AET Manager to your
AET of OVIYAM and PORT 11112 and fill out your PC IP Number.

Have done that and now I can connect to my dcm4chee-web3
Dicom database and recieve images and Patients with OVIYAM
Web-Browser interface.

This is working in my LAN and I think should work over the
internet too, but be careful open the internet port, could be,
everyone load your pictures without security settings.

How do you change from WADO to C-MOCE?
