Import Instances on active Storage

I'd like to import studiesstored in the active /storage/fs1 filesystem.

I don't want to copy them from an old filesystem to a new one, but keeping them where they are and only fill the database with study data.

Import Instances on Storage seems to use two filesystems an old and a new one. A there is mentioned a "RESTful service" without further explication.

Import Instances in study management services looks promising, but i don't really understand what to do :(
