Hello,

Back in January, for release dcm4chee-arc-light 5.0.1, there was a discussion naming the following as "Missing":
  1. MWL SCP - should be doable in few days, not yet scheduled, but I guess during next 3 months
  2. No auto-switch of storage file systems (but you can switch manually) - not scheduled
  3. No archiving to nearline storage (but support of cloud storage as primary storage) - not yet scheduled
  4. No store-and-remember to other DICOM archive (but DICOM forwarding controlled by rules) - not yet scheduled
  5. No DICOM export triggered by Web UI - scheduled for 5.0.2 (~1 month)
  6. No XDS-I export - not scheduled
  7. No Media Creation export - not scheduled
  8. No Teaching File Export - not scheduled
  9. No Data Management support by Web UI - not yet scheduled, but I guess during next 6 months
  10. ATNA Audit Log - scheduled for next 3 month

Question:
Is the list still applicable in the current version of dcm4chee-arc-light (5.5.x)?

Additional Questions:
Item #2 indicates that although there is no auto-switch of storage file systems, one can perform the switch manually.
Item #3 indicates that although there is no archiving to nearline storage, setting cloud storage as the primary storage is supported.

Would any be able to expand on how to go about (1) manually switching storage file systems and (2) setting cloud storage** as primary storage?
Details and/or link to document/how-tos much appreciated!

**Still working to understand this post

Thanks!

Item #1, #5, #10 are already available in 5.5.x, #9 will be available for 5.6.0 which will be released during next days. Item #4 is scheduled in next 1-2 months.

We will add an How-to about manually switching storage file systems in the Wiki.

Usage of Cloud storage will be documented, as soon we have implemented a retrieve cache - also scheduled already in this year. Without that, the application has to retrieve each object for each retrieve from the cloud - which may be too slow and also expensive (dependent on your cloud provider).

Updated the how to page in Wiki for manually switching storage file systems -    https://github.com/dcm4che/dcm4chee-arc-light/wiki/How-to-configure-the-Storage-Directory

Thanks a bunch for providing update to current state of dcm4chee-arc-light as compared to an older version, and giving preview of future road map!
I was also able to follow the Wiki for manually switching storage file system.

Can I understand from the notes that although usage of cloud storage system is supported, it is not recommended to put into usage until cache ability is in place?

Thanks!!

It depends on the retrieve performance of and the billing contract with your cloud provider.
