I am needing to migrate our current archive database from our archive server to our SQL DB server.

The current setup is listed below:
Long term Archive Server * This server houses all of the archive images in 4 separate 2TB Luns.*
MSSQL Server 2005 SP3

Server to Migrate the Database only to:
Database Server
MSSQL Server 2008 SP2

Is there anything specific that would need to happen for this migration? Would I need to install the Java Connectors on the destination SQL Server? I am wondering if I would have to change anything in the jmx-console to point to the new database as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Once you migrate the data, you should edit the XML datasource files to have the appropriate ip address, etc.  Edit server/default/deploy/arr-mssql-ds.xml (for the audit database) and pacs-mssql-ds.xml (for the main database) with a text editor when dcm4chee is shut down.  When you restart it, it should connect to the new database, assuming you have everything set correctly.

I'm not into MSSQL, so I cannot give you any tips on that, but, the
java connector goes on the software connecting onto your database, that
is, your DCM4CHEE/JBOSS.

Also, what Damien said :D
