MICRON Teacher Preview Night:
Thanks to generous support from the Micron Foundation, DCI invites teachers to a free preview of the world-famous daVinci exhibition that opens at DCI in June. On Wednesday, August
20, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., teachers and school administrators are invited to walk through the exhibition and discuss DCI’s new field trip program
with
our Education Department. As part of that program, we will offer only one field trip per day to ensure teachers and students get the most out of their experience. To reserve a spot at the Micron Teacher Preview Night, please email
w.s...@dcidaho.org before August 13.
Leonardo da Vinci: Man-Inventor-Genius: On June 14, this world-famous traveling exhibition opens at DCI. More than 500 years ago, Leonardo daVinci designed flying machines, robots, submarines, underwater breathing gear and solar powered industries; laid ground work for the artificial heart valve; and created artistic masterpieces. On display at DCI will be 60 invention models in scale, produced by Italian artisan families who have been building the inventions for 200 years. Included will be interactive computer stations, an educational time room, and a companion replica art exhibition, Man-Artist-Genius. At DCI, the exhibitions will occupy the Orange and Blue halls. DCI’s Exhibits Director has rated this exhibition – “Fascinating, even for active little boys!” And the Yellow Room (with the popular “Bubble Wall” and “Bed of Nails”) and miniature grocery store will be open as usual. The da Vinci exhibitions will remain at DCI until November 29.
