Teacher Updates from the Discovery Center

October 9, 2012

See BODIES REVEALED at the Discovery Center

Remember, the phenomenal exhibition BODIES REVEALED is now available to teachers and students in the Treasure Valley, through March 31.  BODIES  REVEALED features real, whole and partial human body specimens, meticulously prepared to let visitors view and appreciate the complexity of their own bodies.  Sponsored by St. Alphonsus Health System, the exhibition is especially appropriate for students in grades 4 and up.  BODIES REVEALED is a remarkable teaching tool.

As always, you are welcome to bring your entire class to the Discovery Center.  BODIES REVEALED occupies just half of the museum, leaving the other half filled with the well-loved DCI exhibits – and a few new surprises. With an advance reservation, school groups that include BODIES REVEALED in their visit will pay a total of just $10 per student, $7 per adult chaperone. To see just the “classic” Discovery Center exhibits, the cost is $3 per student, with adult chaperones admitted free.  (Title 1 schools will pay just $7 per student or adult for BODIES REVEALED. Their admission to see just the Discovery Center exhibits is free, covered by the donors to our Good Neighbor program.)

To schedule a field trip, just email a.ch...@dcidaho.org with the date and time you prefer, the grade level and number in your group, your Title 1 status, and whether you are coming to see BODIES REVEALED or just the classic DCI exhibits -– or call Anne Church at (208) 287-4236.
