On Saturday, October 25, 2025 (date moved from October 18) citizens of Eastern Delaware County will celebrate OcTrolleyFest for the 21st year starting at Eden Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Springfield Road in Collingdale Pennsylvania. A Choo Choo Trolley bus will be at the Darby Library, 1001 Main St. after 10:30 to bring people up to Eden.. OcTrolleyFest Is a celebration of Transportation Heritage and Community started in 2005 to celebrate the first streetcars to connect Philadelphia with Delaware County in 1858 over the same route as today’s SEPTA Rt 11 (T-4)
This year is different because we will also be celebrating our earliest form of transportation, which is walking ,including the Underground Railroad and the struggle for fairness and human dignity on public transportation by Citizens of Eden including William Still and Carolyn LeCount,
We will also celebrate the Great Minquas Path which is believed to have crossed through Eden and across the Woodburne plateau, connecting the indigenous Susquehannock with the Dutch, Swedish, and later English for Trading posts along the Schuylkill and Delaware Rivers before the arrival of William Penn.
We will also have a reading of a new play “A Streetcar Named Freedom” describing the 400 years of history on the Heights of Darby.
There will be music provided by noted blues musician and historian Joe Becton and fun and surprises. Join us
