When you lock a credit card, recurring auto-payments will continue to get paid through the card. What happens if I use a locked card to sign up for Netflix? Will the payment after the "free trial" ends go through since it is a recurring payment, or will it get denied since it is a new charge?

You won't be able to do that in the first place. Netflix will check that the card is valid when you sign up (even though they may be giving you a free trial and not actually charging you yet). They'll see it's not legitimate and disallow you from using it.

An alternate way of explaining this is from the issuing bank's perspective. If the card is locked and then a brand new merchant attempts to set up a preauthorized transaction, the bank will deny the transaction.

The intent of locking a card is to stop new activity, not all activity or all non-recurring activity. Recurring payments that were established prior to the card being locked are allowed, but establishment of new recurring payments will not be allowed.

Is Hollywood running out of ideas? Even stranger than rebooting seemingly every old hit for a new generation is the longstanding tradition of adapting intellectual property that really has no business being a show or film in the first place. Board games like Clue, Candyland, Dungeons and Dragons, and even freaking Battleship have been made into films. Looking to up the ante in head-scratching, inexplicable IP adaptations, Netflix has a new series: Exploding Kittens, based on the bestselling card game.

I renewed my Netflix subscription a couple months ago. Of course I can watch Netflix on my iPhone, my MacBook, and on my HD televison set which has an Apple TV attached to it. Each month, Netlix charges me a monthly fee. However, the monthly fee is automatically deducted through my iTunes account using the available credit I have on there. (Yes, I carry a balance of anywhere from $40 to $75 on iTunes for the **** of it.) I do NOT want my iTunes credit to be touched. I'd rather have iTunes/AppleTV/Netflix take the monthly fee from a credit card. I do have a credit card on file for my iTunes account, after all. Why should it default to my credit balance? How do I work around this?

If you want to be charged via your credit card then if you cancel your iTunes subscription then I think that you can subscribe through Netflix themselves and then link your devices to that - before you do that you may want to check Netlfix's help pages that it's possible to do and/or whether you can restart your existing subscription via them

I've been trying to sign up for Netflix using my Paypal account, but every time I go through the process of signing up it say's I need to enter a credit card.

I have a confirmed linked bank account and was hoping to use that, but it keeps insisting on a credit card, which I dont have as of yet. There has to be a way to do this, whats the point of paying through paypal if it's just going to use your credit card anyway?

I feel your pain. I was just on the phone with paypal and netflix, each blaming the other, each saying it should be no problem to use a bank acct linked with paypal acct to pay for netflix but the problem remains. I hate using my overused credit card for this and netflix shouldn't advertise this payment option if it doesn't actually work. Frustrating. Especially since I am now a confirmed Netflix addict.

I have had Netflix for about a year now. I have never used a credit card as I dont have any. I have my paypal linkied to my bank account and have never had a problem until last month. Now I am being asked by Paypal to link a credit card for some reason. I called paypal and they say that netflix is the one asking and not them. But i find that funny because its in my paypal account that its asking from. I also tried to purchase online yesterday(which i have also done with no problems before) and it did the same thing. I am getting frustrated becuase I keep getting the run around from paypal.

****Merchant rebates from X.com expire after six months and twelve months following card activation (or card issuance for a virtual card) for new users with Icy White/Frosted Rose Gold and Obsidian Cards respectively. Cardholders who have upgraded their Card tier or CRO stake will enjoy the merchant rebate benefit(s) offered with the new Card tier for 6/12 months starting from the date of the upgrade. Valid for new users or cardholders who upgraded on and after 1 Feb 2024 10:00 UTC.

Starting 15 January 2024, 03:00 UTC, Cardholder CRO Staking will replace CRO Lockup for eligible users. Note: The Cardholder CRO Staking requirements for the Crypto.com Visa Card are expressed in the local fiat currency equivalent.

Whenever you stake or lock up the required CRO for a higher card tier, you can enjoy various Cardholder CRO Staking or CRO Lockup benefits, such as additional spending rewards, purchase rebates, and higher rates in Crypto Earn, depending on the card tier that you have staked or locked up for.

If you are eligible for Cardholder CRO Staking and you do not have an active CRO Lockup and wish to enter into a new Cardholder CRO Stake on or after 15 January 2024, 03:00 UTC, you will be required to accept the Cardholder CRO Staking Terms & Conditions during the CRO purchase and staking process in the Crypto.com App.

If you are eligible for Cardholder CRO Staking and you have an active CRO Lockup, and you opt to upgrade your card on or after 15 January 2024, 03:00 UTC, regardless of whether your current CRO Lockup holding period is ongoing or otherwise, you will be prompted to accept the Cardholder CRO Staking Terms & Conditions during the card upgrade process. Your current CRO Lockup will be replaced with Cardholder CRO Staking and will be subjected to another 180-day holding period.

Transactions made under these merchant categories or channels are excluded from the CRO Rewards programme: digital wallets, digital banking services, crypto exchanges, stored value products, money remittance services, security brokers/dealers, insurance sales, underwriting and premiums, tax payments, government services, financial institutions, POI funding transactions, quasi cash, money orders/wire transfers.

This offer is launched independently by Crypto.com, and there is no partnership between Crypto.com and the merchants in this offer. Crypto.com has the sole discretion to modify this offer at any time.

Spending rewards at qualifying merchants eligible for purchase rebates will only be credited for amounts exceeding the maximum monthly purchase rebate. For example, if you spend US$39.99 on Netflix, you will enjoy US$13.99 in purchase rebates, and spending rewards on the remaining US$20.

Refer to the table below for the estimated rewards rate under Cardholder CRO Staking. The reward rates provided are an estimation based on data from validators and are subject to change. The rewards you receive will be the final reward rates received from validators, less service fees charged by Crypto.com. Crypto.com does not guarantee any particular rate of return.

Note that by unstaking CRO, you will be subjected to a 36-day unbonding period, which is imposed by the underlying protocol. During and after the unbonding period, you will be unable to enjoy Cardholder CRO Stake rewards or benefits that come with Cardholder CRO Stake, for example:

You will continue to enjoy non-staking Crypto.com Visa Card benefits (e.g., spending rewards of up to 2% for Icy White / Frosted Rose Gold / Obsidian tiers), Airport Lounge Access, fee-free ATM withdrawal limits, and interbank exchange rates).

You will continue to enjoy non-lockup Crypto.com Visa Card benefits (e.g., spending rewards of up to 2% for Icy White / Frosted Rose Gold / Obsidian tiers), Airport Lounge Access, fee-free ATM withdrawal limits, and interbank exchange rates).

Obsidian cardholders can enjoy exclusive luxury privileges on their first flight with one of the largest private jet networks in the world. Please contact our support team to submit your booking request.

Visit the respective sites and pay for your subscription with your Crypto.com Visa Card.* For existing users of X.com/Spotify/Netflix, go to the subscription and payment page to change your payment method to the Crypto.com Visa Card.

I still need to add a loop and switch to trigger this flow when Netflix is active but for now I want to find out if it is possible to use the created sensor as a now playing source in a Media Control card?
Is such thing possible with a Media Control card or any other card?
Use a different sensor as Now Playing source?

If you want to use this flow follow the instructions in this video: =Lqo-Lf-iq60 on how to get the needed links/cookie data and add Node-RED Companion Integration using HACS.
When imported edit nodes: http request, change and sensor

I cancelled Sky Q but then decided to stay after receiving an offer, Netflix was working fine during the cancelllation period but it stopped working as soon as I recontracted. It keeps asking to add payment card/details.

I was transfered to Technical today, 1 hour on the call. They took Netflix off my package and added it back on. Still won't work at all, asking for me to add a payment card. Surely this can't be correct, I've never had a card on Netflix, always came as being linked to Sky.
