Accordingto authorities, Nenigar was last seen in Blythe, California, on Feb. 28. The sheriff said she lives in that area but frequently drives to La Paz County in Arizona, where other family members live.
Her family reported her missing, and a week later, the sheriff said their department got a call that her Toyota Camry had been found by loved ones in the remote desert south of Cibola, about 45 minutes from Blythe.
Authorities said Nenigar was last seen wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt, black leggings, and black and white tennis shoes. She has a scar on her cheek, and a rose tattooed on her right hand. They also believe she may be wearing a thin bracelet and carrying a pink purse.
Amanda Nenigar, 27, was found dead on March 29 in La Paz County, Arizona, according to the La Paz County Sheriff's Office. She was reported missing on Feb. 28 by her family and was last seen in Blythe, California.
"The family is incredibly grateful to have people like each of you who have volunteered and dedicated their time and resources into finding her," read a statement attributed to Nenigar's family and shared in a Saturday morning post on her Facebook missing person page. "It is with a heavy heart that we must report to you all, she was found deceased last night, Friday March 29th 2024, and is no longer a missing persons case."
"We ask that you please respect the family during this time and avoid spreading rumors and assumptions," the sheriff's office posted on social media. The sheriff's office also followed up in another post, asking people to stop calling 911 for updates on Nenigar.
I noticed the discussion forum on here have been very quiet - new threads go unanswered and I few sorry for those who just joined..
For me, I've been really busy with work so I don't have time for Blythe dolls anymore.
The second reason what puts me off is unable to get those dresses from well-known designers. Some designers prefer to focus on customizing and neglect their fans who discover them for their wonderful dresses. Which is kind of sad really. I try to convince myself to look on the bright side - at least I'm saving money here for not getting that dress that I've always wanted or unable to because they sell out too fast.
The third reason is, I find the new Takara releases are not special anymore...
Who else feel the same?

I didn't lose any interest in Blythe dolls but I lost a bit on the online part of it. that said, I have plenty of well made and original stuff to sell for Blythe dolls, I'm just not famous.
as for Takara releases, I think their sales strategy has gone wrong, and their designs are focusing too much on a lolita-style and they lost their funky side that's a big side on Blythe dolls original designs. although I have nothing against lolita, I think they're quite cute, I can's stand one more frilly-pink-haired-Blythe release... and I'm not a big fan of Middies (and Petites).

I think it depends on which forum you're using. I'd say that there are two that are fairly active, blythe kingdom and plastic paradise.
I really love middies but I agree, I find a lot of new releases boring. :( I've mostly stopped buying new releases and still to middies and Kenners.

New Takara releases IMO are terrible in both design and quality. I've gone broke and crazy going after custom dolls so now I concentrate on clothing my girls. I buy little things here and there on Etsy.

I do notice there being a serious slowdown in postings over here on Flickr. I really only have time to spend on this hobby on the weekends so :( But yeah, in general the new releases don't interest me. :(

I havent lost my interest in Blythe. But I cant get any real Blythe doll as I have a real good luck to find my 4 Basaak girls whose body type is really different from used in your countries.
I follow news and fashion but I cant afford to buy any designer dresses. So if I like something and it is in my skills I try to make it on my own. I like sewing and crocheting and knitting for dolls. It is my escape from the reall life in a hurry.

The discussions on We Love Blythe (Brazil) it's always terrific. Every new release use to be very commented, as the news about prices, preorders and the first photos. As I have 20 dolls, the new ones don't tell me something new, then I'm spending money in customization and outfits. I don't like very much the middies and FBLs, but they seem to be a focus on Takara's new releases. As they changed the factory, some of the first dolls use to have some problem in their hair or eyes (or both). I dare to say that Monique Magnifique will be an awesome doll. The new dolls are not very special, but the prices are getting cheapper.

I'm new to Blythes. I didn't think I liked them but there are a few that I do really like! And it looks like so much fun to dress them and stage them. So far I only have a few LP's and a Takara petite on the way.
As far as the new releases of the Neo you don't like them? I have found my favorite and she is newer and I hope to order her this week. Monique!
What is different and why do you not like the new releases?

I am fairly new to Blythe also, but I have wanted one for years. I have 6 and they have very little customizing (eye chips). I do like the girls with pink hair and I have one (SS), But I would like to see more grown up looking girls and also more with dark hair (black would be great). I only post pics of my dolls once in a while, but I love playing with them, taking pictures of them, and sewing for them.
I know a few of my contacts are very unhappy with this new flickr and have gone or threatened to go some place else.

I can understand what you mean about losing interest. Older dolls came with stacks more stock and were usually very varied. I guess it does come to a point in any designer's career that you've done everything you've wanted to do, and now just churning out for the money. Who knows.
I was just musing that my Cloud 9 Bowl came with two complete outfits, whereas dolls post 2009 pretty much only came with one outfit, maybe an accessory or two. It's really disappointing to see Takara focusing more on a monthly release rather than take the time to make something really special.
I wanted a Blythe since I was 14 and spent the first year or so not even knowing what they were called. I happened upon pictures from Google Image Search and a Japanese music video which featured an SBL. I finally found a store selling them here in Melbourne and purchased my first one two months before turning 18. I'm 22 in three days and I have 17 dolls now, though 4 of which are TBL, they're more for a side project.
I did go through a year or so where I forced myself to ignore the dolls because I couldn't afford the obsession, but regained all if not more interest in them over the last year. In fact I even got a tattoo of Miss Sally Rice last week just to declare my love. They are my little friends, my replacement children, and light up my life.
Blythe fo' Life.
Also waiting on my Wendy Weekender - she looks kickbutt but would have loved her to have come with more outfits!

hmm i have never heard any of this about the bad quality of the newer blythes until a friend said something about to me in terms of the Wendy Weekender I am getting in a few weeks. I don't know if she was just talking about WW or if she meant all the newer blythes? there are just soo many blythes. and i always read about how much easier it is to customize RBL and FBL (ww is fbl) blythe compared to sbl and others... idk i am still pretty new to this but i have 2 rbl blythe Sp, and Sg.. they are awesome.. i also have an SBL custom.. and i love her as well but i can't believe someone sawed her head apart once (O.o) just to give her that wonderful red hair she's got! LOL! well, I am really trying to learn to customize anyways.. so i guess I am making the right decisions about buying the newer blythes..
The reason why customisers who make both dolls and clothes tend to focus on the dolls is there is a HUGE amount more profit in it. Why spend a whole day on an outfit set you can't get more than $80 for when you could spend a day on a doll and get $1000?
I think the forums in general on Flickr and such are slower since the Facebook groups and Tumblrs. Plus Flickr groups are far more difficult to find and participate in than they used to be. I still miss the old Flickr.

I miss the old Flickr as well. I have around twenty Blythes as well. I just found this group. Maybe I'll be able to find a Blythe community that "This Is Blythe" used to be. In haven't found one since it took a dive. I've felt with the dolls that I have that I have every hair type that I could dream of. I enjoy photographing my girls. I wish that I could afford the clothes for the dolls that others make. I am lucky that I can sew for them myself, and that I have friends that I can swap outfits with.

I have been feeling out of connection with the Blythe community because I used to go to "This Is Blythe" and just haven't found anything close to what that site was for me.

I'm just revisiting Blythe online activity, having taken a few years off due to the craziness of life, children, work, etc. and am disappointed to see that TIB is inactive. Can anyone tell me what happened and why that forum dissolved?
