Street) SE 20003, in between Capital South and Eastern Market Metro

CHEC is offering a free panel discussion of some ways to cut your summer
utility bills. CHEC member Judy Kosovich will introduce the panelists
and act as moderator:
Judy will give a brief description of how heat from the outdoors enters
your home and the basic principles that govern what you can do about it.
Brett Wiley of WeatherizeDC will highlight what homeowners can do with
his program to reduce energy bills by 25% and create comfort throughout
their entire home. WeatherizeDC works with homeowners throughout the
weatherization process by community engagement and quality assurance
creating local economic opportunity and business development for good,
green jobs.
Albert Nunez of Capital Sun Group, a certified energy manager and a long
time distributor of window quilts, will talk about the benefits and cost
of window quilts. He will also talk about radiant barriers for your
roof, topside and underside.
Gene Sweir, certified for HERS audits and LEED for homes, of Lite Line
Companies, will talk about Inflector radiant barriers for your windows
and skylights, as well as his favorite radiant barrier for roofs.
Each will speak for about 20 minutes. After the speakers are finished,
each will move to a corner of the room and answer questions and share
more details.
If you want price estimates, come with measurements of your windows and
skylights. It will also be possible to purchase pieces of Inflector
laminate that you can install yourself.
