Hi DC Fair Food Frands!

Its been a minute, but we are still grinding it out in DC, surviving the heat wave with some fun school visits to local public charter schools & high school agriculture programs at the Arboretum.

2 Weeks ago we were able to visit Kirsten & her students at Briya Public Charter School to share with them the advocacy work we do with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers & the Fair Food Program! A great bunch of students who were really engaged and asked a lot of poignant questions.

Then last week we got to meet with Jake & all the Green Ambassador's at the Washington Youth Garden at the Arboretum. These high school students are part of an amazing 6 week agricultural program that takes them outside to experience  working outdoors as well as getting work inside the classroom and learning about the various aspects of agriculture. We had some great breakout groups with the students who came up with great suggestions on ways to fight the injustices in the farmworker labor system.

Lastly, join us for the next DCFF August planning meeting this Sunday (August 5) at noon! We will be meeting in the the basement of District House (2121 H St NW) on GW's campus. 
it's located about a block and a half from the Foggy Bottom metro, and is located in a food court in the basement of a student dorm. 🍅🍅
