Sr. Software Dev Engineer    (McAfee Labs Cloud Engineering)

About the Role

This is Senior Software Development Engineer role. The person will be an integral part of McAfee Labs Cloud Engineering team working with the team in Boston and Cork. The person should be proficient in Java and responsible for taking a senior role for an enterprise quality Kitty hawk application

Primary Responsibilities:

The responsibilities will include the following:

·         Participates in the process of setting future technical strategies and influences strategic direction for product and product family in reaction to business needs or industry trends.

·         Adapts and promotes overall direction to reflect changes within the company.

·         Quickly, efficiently and independently resolve highly complex problems, even those of large scale or across multiple products.

·         Applies engineering processes (e.g. Unit testing) to consistently produce sound solutions of high quality. Able to independently produce quality solutions on problems of high complexity.

·         Mentoring members of the engineering team on matters pertaining to technical specialty.

·         Receives general input from management and translates this direction into appropriate operational items to drive projects towards completion.  Foresees future direction and aligns current activities in alignments with this direction.  Takes responsibility for updating own skills and technical growth

 

Experience & Qualifications

·         5+ years of Java development specializing in web applications, Servlet, Java Bean, JDBC, and JSP development

·         Bachelors/Masters in Engineering (preferably in IT or CS)

 

Competencies / Skill sets required for the role:

·         Specializing in Core Java, web applications, Servlet, Java Bean, JDBC, and JSP development.

·         Must have knowledge of HTTP, TCP, and UDP.

·         Must have experience with relational databases.

·         MS SQL Server 2005  + TSQL (this is the database for ePO server)

·         experience on C++ is also mandatory

·         experience with UN*X like operating system is advantage.

·         Must have experience with planning and creating large enterprise quality multi user systems.

·         Experience in network security is a plus

·         Experience with Windows Servers and Workstation operating systems is mandatory.

Software QA Engineer (McAfee Labs Cloud Engineering)

About the Role

This is  Software QA Engineer role. The person will be an integral part of McAfee Labs  Cloud Engineering team working with the team in Boston and Cork. The person should be proficient in QA and Automation and responsible for taking a QA Engineer role for an enterprise quality Products

Primary Responsibilities:

The responsibilities will include the following:

·         2+ years of QA in Unix based application  and Enterprise Application Testing with Automation skills as Mandatory.

·         Bachelors/Masters in Engineering (preferably in IT or CS)

 

Competencies / Skill sets required for the role:

·         Specializing Unix based  applications QA

·         Must have knowledge of HTTP, TCP, and UDP.

·         Must have experience with relational databases

·         Experience and Skills in Automation is Mandatory, PERL/Python  is Preferred.

·         experience with UNIX like operating system is Mandatory , Specially FreeBSD and CentOS

·         Must have experience with testing large enterprise quality multi user systems.

·         Experience in network security is a plus

·         Experience with Windows Servers and Workstation operating systems is mandatory.

·         Working Knowledge on VMware Images

·         Skills to Setup QA Test Bed

·         Basic Knowledge on  PostgreSQL commands.

·         Writing test cases and test plans.

·         Tools like Wireshark, Fiddler etc.
