Charlene Murdock (Foodways at Nana Cardoon) will be presenting two stories at our Garden Educators Meeting (GEM) this Wednesday, March 7, 2018. I thought those of you attending would be as excited as we are to learn these two Food Stories to share with other teachers and gardening students…and their families! She is also bringing a planting kit for the GEs to use in their gardens with the children this spring - one kit for each story and for each school. If you have a network of contacts, please invite them to join us from 4 to 5:30 pm at Neil Armstrong Middle School Library* for the Food Stories and an update about what’s happening in our area School Gardens - and around the state!

Rick Sherman, our School Garden Guide from the Oregon Department of Education/Child Nutrition, is coming here to Forest Grove as well for this meeting. Some of you will remember Rick from his visit here last year, when he informed us that we are the School Garden Hub for North Willamette Valley, due to the number of FGSDistrict school gardens we now have as of this spring - nine out of eleven schools! Rick was also the inspiring workshop leader we enjoyed at the January School Garden Summit at The Oregon Garden.

Also sharing her input about 2017-18 events and activities focussed on FGSD School Gardens will be Colleen Walker, our Garden Educator Coordinator this year. Thank you to others who will attend, to share their comments about our efforts to keep our Hub connecting, sharing and GROWING.
