Subject: Urgent need for support for policy advocacy
Reply-To: Katy Pelissier, OFSSGN <in...@oregonfarmtoschool.org>

Dear Oregon farm to school and school garden community,

We are so fortunate to live in a state that values healthy kids, healthy farms, and local jobs. We are also fortunate to live in a state that invests in creative solutions like farm to school and school gardens. These programs give me hope because they touch on so many complex challenges all at once, from climate change and public health to economic development and community resilience. It’s a win-win-win for everyone involved.

Unfortunately, the gains we’ve made over the past decade are at risk.
Our state’s $4.5 million farm to school and school garden grant program is a big part of what’s made this movement a success. But, with a statewide budget deficit and less than two months left in the legislative session, we face very real possibility that funding for the program will be cut entirely. It is critical in these last two months that we rally as a network.
Will you support the final push? Network staff are ready to step up and advocate intensively over the next two months, but we can’t do it without your support. We need to raise $3,000 by May 24th to see the legislative session through. Join me in donating $10, $25, $100 or more today. All funds will go towards advocacy to maintain Oregon’s farm to school and school garden program.
Donate now
Sincerely,

Katy Pelissier
Board Chair
Oregon Farm to School and School Garden Network

P.S. Our network is 900 people strong. If one third of us donate $10 today, we'll have raised enough to advocate for the remainder of the legislative session. Join me and donate now.
