1st Workshop on Acoustic Sensing and Representations for Robotics
May 2025 @ ICRA 2025 in Atlanta, USA
Website: https://sites.google.com/view/roboacoustics
Submission: OpenReview
Acoustic sensing is transforming robotic perception, interaction, and decision-making by enabling robots to “hear” and interpret their surroundings. As vision-based methods encounter challenges like poor lighting or occlusions, acoustic sensors like microphones, sonar, and ultrasonic devices provide unique advantages for situational awareness and interaction.
This hybrid workshop will explore the latest advancements and challenges in acoustic sensing for robotics. We aim to foster discussion and collaboration among researchers and practitioners from diverse fields to push the boundaries of how sound can enable robots to navigate, manipulate, and interact in complex environments.
Signal Processing with Acoustic Features
Representation Learning using Acoustic Data
Sensor Fusion: Acoustic + Visual/Tactile Inputs
Real-Time Acoustic Sensing and Decision-making for Robotics
Generative Models for Acoustic Datasets
Applications in Manipulation, Navigation, and HRI
Challenges in Acoustic Sensor Deployment/Integration
Open-Source Tools for Acoustic Sensing
Submission Details
We will solicit contributions of up to 4 pages (excluding references) in IEEE format. Submissions can include:
Late-breaking results
Work under review
Archived or ongoing work
Accepted contributions will be presented as posters (non-archival), and a selection will be featured as spotlight talks. Accepted posters and presentations will be posted on the workshop website upon author approval.
