Wechat is immensely popular in china. I searched the forum and saw numerous requests for out-of-the-box support for Wechat login. I tried to use the custom extension to support Wechat login but unsuccessful due to a lack of information.
As for federating authentication like we do with Google, Facebook and others, Auth0 can only connect to external identity providers via standard federation protocols like OIDC, OAuth1 and OAuth2. AFAIK WeChat only supports OAuth2 for users signing in on desktop computers, but the flow does not work on mobile devices, which would limit its functionality greatly.
This feature lets users log into third-party sites on their computer by scanning a QR code displayed on the page, using their mobile phone. This reduces any friction new users may encounter in using your site, saving the time and hassle of having to remember yet another password.
I clean all data of wechat from my cell Motorola this morning and could not login back in wechat. I knew Rogers intentionally block the flow from wechat . Now I know Rogers block message from WeChat throught Cellphone. Is Rogers action in right way. all my phones and internet service provided by Rogers. That is so sad and should transfer all my service to other provider

The Two Factor TOTP Provider is good, but I think it will be better if we can just scan a QR code and login, without entering any login information in the browser, and since you are scanning it with your phone, you already have the two factor verification.
I just bought the S23 Ultra and installed 2nd copy if wechat using Dual messenger since I have 2 wechat accounts. However, I am unable to login to any of mine 2 wechat accounts in the 2nd copy while i have no problem logging in via the first wechat copy.
I have tried all available login methods, when i use wechat ids/email to login, it gives me an error 5, -13. When i try using phone num and SMS, i do not receive any OTP. I also tried logging in via Facebook and get the same 5,-13 error.

Wechat is one of the most used instant messaging apps on Play Store. Of course since the application has Chinese origins, there is a serious impact of this. Most of Chinese people are using WeChat at the moment. There are also many people who have installed this application because they will visit China or they are doing business with a Chinese company. With the last updates of WeChat, it seems they want to improve their market on North America and Europe. Especially with the last Danish, Swedish, Swiss and Norwegian updates, they have proven that.
However WeChat has serious problem because of a security update which they have done about a year ago. Especially poor documentation of the application for this issue is creating serious problems with users. Users don't know how they can find WeChat friend just after registration. Registered account owners also don't know steps for get rid of this problem.
Friend login problem is a serious fact for the usage experience of WeChat at the moment. It is unknown how WeChat is picking people for this. However almost every users are unable to get pass from friend login. Because it is also unknown what are requirements for this. WeChat asks a friend of you to verify you. However your friend should be eligible to for this process. WeChat has stated that which accounts can verify others but unfortunately those requirements are not correct at the moment. I have tested this personally and we got many reports about this issue.
Despite of it is made in China, WeChat is my fave application. I believe they should change current security system and remove friend login process from WeChat. Otherwise they will go on to lose users if they keep the current system.
Unfortunately I have faced with the same problem a few months ago. After I got the problem, I have sent a feedback to WeChat. They have answered me a month later and helped me to get rid of problem. They were quite kind to me and I really appreciate it. I know im support staff is very busy with many issue... But an answer about a month later was disappointing for me.

The second keypair (Client ID 2, Client Secret 2) and Access Token field is for the WeChat Media Platform (微信公众平台) and is intended for the inside-WeChat-app login scenario.Access Token field is the Token you fill in the server configuration of the WeChat Media Platform (微信公众平台). It enables users to log in with the WeChat built-in browser inside the WeChat mobile app, which will redirect them to your WeChat Official Account (微信公众号) to log in. Due to the limitations of WeChat OAuth, there is currently no way to log in via WeChat in a third-party mobile app or in a mobile browser other than the WeChat app. The mobile login must happen inside the WeChat app for now.
Before accessing Weixin OAuth2.0 Login, you must register a developer account on the Weixin Open Platform, own an approved mobile app, and obtain the corresponding AppID and AppSecret. You can start the access process after your application for Weixin Login is approved.
Weixin OAuth2.0 authorization login allows Weixin users to use their Weixin IDs to securely log in to third-party apps and websites.
